From Halfwheel: “Introducing a blend that represents the full potential and innovation of our Camacho factory is a privilege and great responsibility,” said Lana Fraser, director of marketing and retail for Davidoff of Geneva USA, in a press release. “It goes without saying that Corojo has to be the core component of the blend bearer of the badge of boldness, and the shaggy foot symbolizes the character of our factory to always push boundaries without compromises. The aromas and flavor of this new annual release will surely capture and indulge the palates of the greatest fans of the Camacho legacy.”
From Halfwheel: Plasencia Cigars has begun shipping a new size of its Alma Fuerte Sixto size, this time with a lighter wrapper. The Alma Fuerte Natural Sixto II is the same size and price as the original Alma Fuerte Sixto II, a box-pressed 6 x 60 gordo priced at $21. While it remains a Nicaraguan puro, the wrapper used is a Colorado claro color that is lighter than the regular Alma Fuerte. It’s a rather unique vitola with a hexagon box-press meaning there are six sides instead of the normal four sides that most box-pressed cigars have. To mimic […]

It is this strength which is a source of reassurance for those who know and love the Ox. They welcome […]
Foundation Cigar Company’s Tabernacle cigar embodies founder Nicholas Melillo’s long-time passion and intimate experience with the Broadleaf varietal – made even deeper by his connection, as a native son, to Connecticut soil. Out of reverence for the tobacco leaf, and tobacco tradition, the brand is named for the hallowed sanctuary of Hebrew scripture: The Tabernacle – which housed the Ark of the Covenant before the building of the Temple of Solomon. For Foundation’s latest release, a two-size extension to the Tabernacle line, Melillo has again drawn on biblical inspiration to represent his life in tobacco and his commitment to the […]
The new Fonseca by My Father is completely different from the non-Cuban Fonsecas that were produced by the Quesada family, the former brand owners, in the Dominican Republic. Whereas Quesada-made Fonsecas typically included a mix of tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Mexico and the United States, the Fonseca by My Father is rolled entirely from tobacco grown in Nicaragua, the same country where the new cigars are rolled. Though technically these are not the first Nicaraguan-made Fonsecas, the new Fonsecas from My Father are unique because all of the tobaccos used to roll them were grown by the Garcia family, founders […]
Drew Estate began shipping the Undercrown Dojo Dogma Sun Grown, a 5 x 54 box-pressed robusto extra. The cigar uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a stalk-cut and stalk-cured habano binder from the Connecticut River Valley. Underneath are fillers from Nicaragua, including aged ligero from the Nuevo Segovia region. The Dojo Dogma brand is a collaboration between Drew Estate and Cigar Dojo, an online cigar blog and community. Cigar Dojo has partnered with a number of brands to create Dojo-themed cigars, though most of them have been sold at a specific retailer.
